Internship Overview

Intern at an Eye Hospital in Kathmandu and enhance your career in Ophthalmology.

You will shadow specialized Ophthalmologists in Nepal and gain first-hand experience of Ophthalmological practices in Nepal, assist hospital staff in day-to-day tasks at the hospital. You will also be called to conduct community awareness programs and clinics. Depending on your specialization, you may work with various Departments such as the Department of Surgeries, General Ophthalmology, Investigations, and Pathology.

Nepal Eye Program was officially launched in July 1992 to support the prevention & control of blindness in Nepal and the region. Since then the efforts of the government and non-governmental organizations in this field have resulted in crucial improvements and development. As an intern of Ophthalmology, you will shadow specialized Ophthalmologists in Nepal and gain first-hand experience of Ophthalmological practices in Nepal. You will also be called to conduct community awareness programs and clinics.

This internship will take place in a private or community eye hospital in Kathmandu. You will spend your time with Ophthalmology practitioners and observe the practices and procedures done at the hospital. You will also be called upon to assist hospital staff when required. Depending on your specialization, you may have to work with various Departments such as the Department of Surgeries, General Ophthalmology, Investigations, and Pathology.
