The difference between a volunteering program and an internship is based on their aims and objectives. A volunteering program focuses on contributing to the local communities and environment, and they do not require academic or professional qualifications. Whereas Internships are primarily focused on providing a professional real-life experience to the interns in their career field by working with a local organization.
The internship period has a minimum of 4 weeks (1 month) and a maximum of 12 weeks (3 months). Longer periods can be discussed.
Extensions and customizations of internships are possible depending on the availability. In case of such requests, you can directly contact us and we will assist you.
The intern accommodation has twin sharing rooms, shared bathrooms and work area. You will be sharing the accommodation with other like-minded interns in a local neighbourhood.

TGL internship programs are located in different countries around the globe. Therefore, proficiency in English is mandatory. Majority of the internship placements are located in the local companies. Therefore, if you are passionate about learning languages, it is going to pay off. During the cultural introduction week, you will get language lessons to get started with learning the local language.
Your urge to learn a new language would be very beneficial during the program. It is one of the greatest ways to get the feel of being a part of the community

Food - Breakfast included
Accommodation - Accommodation is included from the date of arrival until the end of the internship.
However, the type and the in house facilities may vary depending on the location.

Airfares (Flights), Visa fees, travel insurance, lunches and dinners and personal transportation expenses are not included in the program fee.

The application fee is due within 2 weeks after the acceptance of the application and placement confirmation. This fee is used for documentation and setting up logistics in-country before the commencement of the internship. The application fee is non-refundable in case of voluntary withdrawal from the program at any time.
Yes. You will have a professional supervisor in your internship placement who will guide you, assist you and evaluate your performance during the internship
Yes. There is 24/7 an in-country coordinator whom you can contact for any emergency. The coordinator is responsible for the quality of the internship placement, to mediate between the intern and the hosting company, guide/supervise the intern during the program.

The Green Lion Academy guides you through the process from signing up for an internship until the end and certification. We give you a comprehensive orientation to the country and your workplace during the orientation week which will include all the information you will need to get around the country. Our emergency support system is also available 24/7 during your internship.
